MADE FROM CONCENTRATE

May 20, 2015 By Faith MORSI Leave a Comment

The OrchardTHE ORCHARD: Picture this – the fruit trees stand in acres of orchard. We all have access to it, privileged to pluck away as we please – all fruit, whenever. The orchard is within reach to all, even to those who find it taxing – they can get there. Some pluck away at leisure, as much and as often.
They have so much they feel they ought to share with everyone else. They take it to the local marketplace. Some stalls have the fruit for free to anyone willing to eat. On some stalls the fruit is on sale from the lowest of prices to the most exorbitant of them. No-one is ever out of business as there are always takers.
Some business minded people buy bucket loads from the market and set up shop and sell theirs further on. From making fruit salads to selling it on as ‘Real Juice’ and ‘not-from-concentrate’. The fruit salad is fruity, tasty, mixed with plenty other things. the most beautifully packaged produce gets more sales and the cleverest salesmanship gets more customers for his talent.

The Orchard2Further still there are those who produce dilutable juice or as some call it – squash – with preservatives. Some squash has real fruit content; some is made up of imitation fruit created in laboratories. This type has the essense of the taste – it smells just like mango juice. It may even taste like mango.
The orchard is the Word of God. We all have access to it and yet some would rather hear it from someone else’s interpretation. There is nothing wrong with interpretations – but when all you have is the interpretation and not the real fruit too – you will never know if or when there is something missing or wrong with the version of Word that you are hearing.

What Are You Saying?!

May 30, 2012 By Faith MORSI Leave a Comment

Speak the right kind of words at home. Speak well. It’s not what you say at Church on Sunday, at Bible Studies, to your Christian friends – but what you say on a day to day basis, at home, while out shopping etc.

Your home atmosphere is the product of words. The tongue of the wise is health. Proverbs 12:18. Don’t talk sickness. talk health. If you don’t want it, don’t talk it. Your life follows your words.

You are not what you say you are but what you say, is what you are. You could say till you’re blue in the face – depending on your complexion in the first place I suppose – how God is your provider and you’ll never lack for anything but if after that you tell your friends how tough things are and how the bills are piling up and that you don’t know what’ll become of you – then you might as well forget it. You have just nullified your statement about God being your provider. You obviously don’t really believe that He is.

Mark 11: 23 “Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him”.

Do not talk failure. Nor sickness. Nor defeat. For crying out loud – don’t talk about what the devil has done. Who cares. He’s a beaten foe, a lost cause. Talk God who is greater. Amen.

Which Way?

October 25, 2011 By Faith MORSI Leave a Comment

Demetrius was a silversmith whose business in the making of silver shrines of Artemis. (Acts 19:24) When Paul came to teach the truth that man-made gods were no gods at all – this threatened Demetrius’ business. It may have been the truth but this teaching of The Way was jeopardising the reputation of his business and his ability to make money. He wanted to make sure by any means that this teaching from Paul would do no further harm. He plotted against Paul and brought many against Paul in an attempt to stop the teachings.

Jesus is the Way, the truth and the life

In the same manner people tweak & alter the doctrine to suit that which they are doing. In Acts 19:11-12 God performed miracles through Paul whereby handkerchiefs that had touched him touched those who needed healing and deliverance and they were healed and delivered.  Some present day preachers want to use hankies routinely to get people  to send donations in exchange for the hankies. The use of hankies is fine if that’s what the Holy Spirit directs one to do.

The other case was the one of the slave girl possessed by an evil spirit that did fortune telling, (Acts 16:16-18), who followed the Apostles around saying,

“These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved”

Paul discerned that this was by an evil spirit, got annoyed and he cast the demon out of her. Her owners who were making money out of the existence of this evil spirit were not pleased. How are they supposed to make money now. They wanted to get things back to the way they were including the evil spirit – as long as they got what they wanted.

We need to have a personal relationship with God, we need to know what He says, have no doubts about what he says, study the Word so that we are not deceived and taken to and fro with every wind of doctrine.

Sometimes we take a path, while we’re making progress, we learn that we are not in the right path. Stop, get off and follow the right path. Seek first the kingdom of God and all else will follow. Material wealth is temporal. No amount of embarrassment or financial expense warrants you tweaking what the Word of God says in order to make you look right. It will never be worth it. It always pays to let God be the guide – He’s always right after all.

Are there any ‘gods’ , any items of so much importance in your personal life that you would die for, that seem to take precedence over the Word of God in your life – they need to move. Moved to where they belong. Don’t lose sight of God even in prosperity.

Just What The Doctor Ordered

September 3, 2009 By Faith MORSI Leave a Comment

The Word of God - sharper than a two edged sword.

The Word of God – sharper than a two edged sword.

Proverbs 4:20 – 22 “My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings. Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart.
For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh.”

In the Hebrew, health in verse 22 is translated ‘ medicine‘. God has given us a prescription for our bodies – pertaining to our salvation – which is health (physical and spiritual), prosperity,

One dose will not do. Liken this to medication prescribed by the Doctor for you. You usually have to take a full course of the medication before it takes the desired effect on your body. There are a certain number of times a day that you would have to take the tablets and a certain amount too.Well the Bible says that we ought to do like wise with the Words of God. they are life, healing and health. Faith in God is faith in His word.

Ever wondered why we take the Doctor’s instructions so seriously yet take the Word of God with a pinch of salt? Let us reverence the Word of God as it so deserves. Let us reverence the integrity of the Word. No Word of God will be void of power. It is the Word that goes out of your mouth that cannot return to Him void. Luke 1:37 ” For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfilment.

  • The Word of God is the will of God.
  • The Word of God is the mind of God.
  • Jesus is the Word of God.
  • The Word of God is my light and my salvation.
  • The Word of God brings healing to all flesh and spirit when partaken of.

Use the Word of God to the fullest advantage. Obey it, do it, live it, enjoy it.

So what is being prescribed?

Proverbs 3:7b – 8 “. . . reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil. It shall be health to your nerves and sinews, and marrow and moistening to your bones.”

Proverbs 7:1-2 “MY SON, keep my words; lay up within you my commandments [for use when needed] & treasure them. Keep my commandments & live, and keep my law and teaching as the apple of your eye.”

Ephesians 6:18 “Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people).”

Proverbs 5:1“My son, pay attention to my wisdom; Lend your ear to my understanding,”

Proverbs 3:21 “My son, let them not escape from your sight, but keep sound and godly Wisdom and discretion,”

Proverbs 12:18 ” There are those who speak rashly, like the piercing of a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.“

People die knowing the medication that would get them well but not taking it. They perish when they half heartedly partake of the medication. That just comes down to lack of knowledge. Hosea 4:6a “My people perish for lack of knowledge . . .” (Check out Isaiah 5:13-15)

That is why what the Church needs to teach is the unadulterated Word of God – not philosophies and motivational speak. Just as the Word of God comes.

Let us be doers of the Word of God and not just hearers only. James 1:22 “But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth].”

Seek First The Kingdom of God

September 2, 2009 By Faith MORSI Leave a Comment

heartIn the Bible in Matthew 6 vs 34 Jesus enjoins us not to worry about what we shall eat, drink or wear because only those who do not know God do that.

Matt 6:31–33 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (NKJV)

God First

What I find fascinating is that this concept is applied in so many areas of our lives and in the Word of God. When more than anything else you put the work of God first – then all else follows naturally.

The Ten Commandments

Regarding the Ten Commandments – all the commandments pivot on one main thing. LOVE! This however is not the be all and end all of being righteous.  We are not righteous because we keep the law – we are made righteous by what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross.

Rom 13:8-10 “Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. 9 For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,”“You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely,“You shall love your neighbour as yourself.” 10 Love does no harm to a neighbour; therefore love is the fulfilment of the law. (NKJV)

As the Bible says in Romans 8:10-13 – that all commandments are summed up in one single command – to LOVE your neighbour as you love yourself. You see, when you uphold this one command, the rest are taken care of because no one who loves others would commit murder and adultery, steal or have evil desires.

Growing Spiritually

This concept also goes for making a conscious decision to grow spiritually. When you do this and take the first step towards this, e.g. spending time praying and reading the Word of God – watch all else fall into place. Consciously and unconsciously.

Here’s a thought. When you decide to begin to look after yourself physically – a lot of good habits which are in line with the Word of God will follow like magnets to steel. Let’s say at the beginning of the year – as you do – you have a list of things that you want to rid your life of and those that you want to do more of. Things like to lose weight, keep fit, eat healthily, pray more, read the Bible more, spend quality time with your family, start that hobby, less waste of time etc.

In this case we will start with a jog or a brisk walk in the morning – say 30 minutes. (Yes you can make the time, say, wake up 45 minutes earlier.) Besides it doesn’t have to be in the morning but morning is best. During this walk you could use this time to pray as well as listen to the Word on-the-go on your walkman, iPod or CD player.

A few things are covered already – you’re already getting into the habit of losing weight, keeping fit, praying and hearing/reading the Word. You will find that your choices of the food that you eat changes and you’re drinking a lot more water too – good news for your body. No one wants to lose weight on one hand and take it away with the other hand by eating unhealthily.

Because of the jog in the morning – you’re more energetic, you get more done during the day. You’re spending fewer hours in front of the TV watching stuff that you could do without. Basically – your mindset changes.

Romans 12:2”And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God”.

Now you’re reading and hearing the Word of God more, you’re praying more – you’re getting to have a great relationship with God – you’re maturing as a Christian, getting off baby milk – the list of possibilities is endless. Take care of the pennies and the pounds take care of themselves – the same concept applies.

Habits

Do an activity over a long period of time and it soon becomes so much a part of you that you come to a point where you don’t even have to think about it. Only that you want to do it and it’s just a part of your life. Just like you take a bath before you go out daily, like you brush your teeth, like you have your breakfast, like to switch off he lights when you’re ready for bed.

Like-for-like activities follow each other. When you pick up a good habit you are then motivated to do others that will be good. Like magic some may say – not magic – it is a spiritual law just like gravity is a law of physics.

The Will

When you know the will of God for your life – the Word of God – you know that which belongs to you and how to get hold of it. The Word becomes flesh to you when you give and apply yourself to the Word of God.

Romans 12vs 1 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (NKJV)

Present your bodies as a living sacrifice. This is taking you to a place of death to self. It’s sad that a lot of us go through life not knowing not only what belongs to us but what we are capable of as sons and daughters of God.

Healing belongs to me according to Isaiah 53:5 “… He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our inequities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him and by His stripes we are healed.”

Salvation belongs to me according to Romans 10:9 – 10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart, man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.“

This is spiritual legal tender – a spiritually legal document. Use it to its fullness.

Get me right – this is not about losing weight or about getting rid of some habits; it’s about taking care of that part of your life which is important – that is seeking God and His kingdom – and the rest will be taken care of.

Matthew 6:33“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (NKJV)
