SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS WORTH PONDERING IN CONTEXT:
“Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. 2 As they MINISTERED to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost SAID, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. 3 And when they had FASTED and PRAYED, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away” Acts 13:1-3.
“Let my PRAYER be set forth before thee as INCENSE; and the LIFTING UP OF MY HANDS as the EVENING SACRIFICE” Psalms 141:2.
“. . . 2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets. 3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much INCENSE (PERFUME, FRAGRANCE, AROMA), that he should OFFER IT WITH THE PRAYERS OF ALL SAINTS upon the GOLDEN ALTAR which was before THE THRONE. 4 And the SMOKE OF THE INCENSE, WHICH CAME WITH THE PRAYERS OF THE SAINTS, ASCENDED UP BEFORE GOD OUT OF THE ANGEL’S HAND. 5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake. 6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound. . .” Revelation 8 (Emphasis Mine).
“And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. 14 Are they not all MINISTERING spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be HEIRS of salvation?” Hebrews 1:7, 14.
“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men OUGHT ALWAYS TO PRAY, and not to FAINT (GIVE UP, WEARY)” Luke 18:1 (Emphasis Mine).
“IS ANY AMONG YOU AFFLICTED? LET HIM PRAY. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. 14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; AND LET THEM PRAY OVER HIM, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 AND THE PRAYER OF FAITH shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. THE EFFECTUAL FERVENT PRAYER OF A RIGHTEOUS MAN AVAILETH MUCH. 17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, AND HE PRAYED EARNESTLY that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. 18 AND HE PRAYED AGAIN, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit” James 5:13-18.
