WELCOME TO MONTH MAY: MONTH OF EXPLORING, EXPRESSING, AND ENACTING – FAITH IN “GOD’S RIGHTEOUSNESS” IN CHRIST JESUS STEAD!
SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS WORTH PONDERING IN CONTEXT:
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His RIGHTEOUSNESS, and all these things shall be added to you” Matthew 6:33 [Luke 12:31].
“Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. 2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they BEING IGNORANT of God’s righteousness, and seeking to ESTABLISH THEIR OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS, have not submitted to THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for RIGHTEOUSNESS to everyone who believes. 5 For Moses writes about THE RIGHTEOUSNESS WHICH IS OF THE LAW, “The man who does those things shall live by them.” 6 But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) 7 or, “ ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto RIGHTEOUSNESS, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no DIFFERENCE between the JEW and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is RICH unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall CALL upon the name of the Lord shall be SAVED”. Romans 10:1-13.
“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A SCEPTER OF RIGHTEOUSNESS is the scepter of Your kingdom. 7 You love RIGHTEOUSNESS and hate wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has ANOINTED You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions” Psalms 45:6-7.
“And of the angels He says: “Who makes His angels spirits And His ministers a flame of fire.” 8 But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A SCEPTER OF RIGHTEOUSNESS is the scepter of Your kingdom. 9 You have LOVED RIGHTEOUSNESS and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has ANOINTED You with the oil of gladness MORE THAN Your companions” Hebrews 1:7-9/NKJV.
“Therefore do not let your good be spoken of as evil; 17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but RIGHTEOUSNESS and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” Romans 14:16-17/NKJV.
“For I am NOT ASHAMED of the GOSPEL of Christ, for it is THE POWER of God to SALVATION for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17 For in it THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD is REVEALED from faith to faith; as it is written, “THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH” Romans 1:16-17.
“For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS will REIGN in life through the One, Jesus Christ.) 18 Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in JUSTIFICATION of life. 19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be MADE righteous. 20 Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, 21 so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might REIGN through RIGHTEOUSNESS to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” Romans 5:17-21/NKJV.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW CREATION; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the MINISTRY OF RECONCILIATION, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us THE WORD OF RECONCILIATION. 20 NOW then, we ARE AMBASSADORS for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He MADE Him who KNEW NO SIN TO BE SIN FOR US, that we might BECOME THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN HIM” 2 Corinthians 5:17-21/NKJV.
